ABOUT US
For years college students have griped about the expenses of higher learning. Tuition, dorm fees,
meal plans…And did we mention text books? According to The College Board, the average
student spends about $940 on books and supplies. At the end of the semester, less that half of that
is recuperated, as campus bookstores often buy back books for just pennies on the dollar.
UniversityBay, LLC has created the solution to this problem by introducing UniversityBay.com - a
free online search engine that offers college students a central place to buy, sell, and swap
textbooks and other goods with other students from the same university.
UNIVERSITYBAY.COM IN USE
Say Biology 101 requires a 5,000 page read that you’d not only rather leave on the bookshelf, but
wouldn’t mind missing out on paying the $570 it will cost at the bookstore. Or perhaps it’s the end
of the semester and you’re looking to dump that barely used futon before you head back home for
the summer. Simply:
• Log in to your UniversityBay.com account
• Locate your school
• Post the item, along with a photo, short description, and your contact information
• Once you receive a response, meet the potential buyer in a safe and centrally located of
the campus to sell or swap the item
Instead of ordering a book online and waiting for it to be shipped, it’s in your hands within hours, or
even minutes! The service is easy and the reasons to use the site are endless – from trading books
and cliff notes, to giving away one of the under bed storage cases every parent insists on buying.
In addition, students are able to find listings for job, internship, and volunteer positions, as well as
off-campus housing.
